Silmeria is unique in the sense that you need to equip certain combinations of weapons and armor to learn skills that will aid you in battle, and trust me, you'll need them. No longer will you have skills learned solely to appease Freya; so you can count on the skill lineup in Silmeria to be incredibly useful and something that you'll covet just as much as any treasure in the game.

All skill lists are accessible in the Equip Menu. Simply press Triangle when you are selecting which piece of equipment to use, and the list will come up. All skills that have not been learned by ANY of your Einherjar will be greyed out and the combination needed to create that skill will be hidden from you. So what do you do? You experiment with certain types of equipment and see what works until you get lucky and unlock something, or come here. It should be noted that all Einherjar you pick up, will join with one set skill learned, allowing you to view the Rune combination (essentially "unlocking" it without all the trouble) if you have not learned that particular skill before.

Skills are only accessible through same-colour combinations. That means you will not find any skills that require two blue Runes and two red Runes (or so, at the time of me writing this, I have not found any :P). More importantly is that Skills can only be learned by Runes that are touching on the Rune Grid, which is viewed on the right of your Equip screen. If all of your armor and weapon is blue, then you cannot hope to learn a Skill that requires a combination of red Runes, since the remaining Rune slots will not be connected. Make sure you don't make this mistake in haste and then come back to find out you wasted a lot of time :P Skills are learned through combat, and are not equippable until an Einherjar has learned them. You can view the Skill learning progress on your Einherjar by going to the Equip menu, pressing Triangle in the equipment list and viewing the gauge that will gradually fill as you fight enemies. When it hits 100%, the Einherjar has learned the Skill and does not need to equip the necessary equipment and accessories needed to learn it, in order to use it.

If at any time you interrupt the Skill learning process by de-equipping the items needed to create a certain Skill, you can simply come back and resume later (be re-equpping the necessary things), as the gauge remains filled to the point where you left it. Have fun seeing what works; you can easily learn up to 4 Skills in one equipment combination.

Fortify PhysiqueIncreases ATK to 150% during battle. 2 CP.
HeroismIncreases attack +20% for each enemy that dies during battle. 2 CP.
Mental BoostIncreases MAG to 120% during battle. 2 CP.
ObservationATK, MAG, HIT, AVD, RDM, and RST values increase slightly per fixed intervals during battle. 5 CP.
PyschosamaCombines ATK and MAG values for attacks during battle. 3 CP.
Resist MagicIncreases RST to 150% during battle. 2 CP.
Solitary StruggleIncreases ATK, MAG, HIT, AVD, RDM and RST according to number of fallen allies. 4 CP.
ToughnessDoubles current HP and max HP during battle. 5 CP.
TrainingReduces ATK, MAG, HIT, AVD, RDM and RST by 20% in battle, but increases experience received to 150%. 3 CP.

Break UpIncreases chance of entering Break Mode when part of enemy is broken off. 2 CP.
Double EdgeDeals damage twice in a single attack. 5 CP.
Heat UpIncreases the amount your special attack gauge rises after an attack. 4 CP.
Mighty BlowMakes attacks cause enemy to faint. Further attacks are likely to break enemy guard. 2 CP.
OverloadIncreases power of magic to 150%. However, magic will strike allies as well. 4 CP.
Spirit ControlIncreases the amount of purple gems that appear after an attack. 3 CP.
Triple EdgeDeals damage thrice in a single attack. 6 CP.

SkillDescription and CPRequired Runes
Cure ConditionEnables quicker recovery than usual from status ailments during battle.
First AidMay restore half the damage inflicted by an enemy attack afterwards. 3 CP.
Force Field (100)Protects user with a force field that can withstand 100 damage. 3 CP.
Force Field (1000)Protects user with a force field that can withstand 1000 damage.
Force Field (5000)Protects user with a force field that can withstand 5000 damage.
Free ItemEnables you to use items at no AP cost.
Guard MotionReduces damage received by 20%. However, prohibits blocking and evading. Renders user susceptible to status ailments. 4 CP.
Magic MailEnables guarding against and evading special magic based attacks. 2 CP.
Missile ProtectionGuards against all projectiles frontally. 5 CP.
Reduce MagicHalves efficacy of all magic received, whether damage or recovery. 6 CP.
Reflex MovementEnables blocking and evading of enemy attacks when knocked back.
Regenerate HealthRestores HP at fixed intervals during battle. 4 CP.
SurvivalLeaves 1 HP after an otherwise fatal attack if character has at least 10% of maximum HP to start with. 3 CP.
Victorious VitalityRestores HP to 100% when victory is achieved. 5 CP.

Beast BludgeonEnables attacks with massive effects against Beast enemies. 4 CP.
Bug SwatterEnables attacks with massive effects against Insect enemies. 3 CP.
Demon DestroyerEnables attacks with massive effects against Demon enemies.
Descaling MightEnables attacks with massive effects against Scaled enemies. 4 CP.
Desperate MeasuresSplits enemy in two with an attack. However, the bearer of this skill's maximum HP is set to 1.
DismantleSplits an enemy in two with a critical attack. 6 AP.
Dragon SlayerEnables attacks with massive effects against Dragon enemies.
Ghost BusterEnables you to attack enemies without material bodies. 3 CP.
Giant KillerIncreases power of attacks against Giant enemies.
God DestroyerEnables attacks with massive effects against Divine enemies. 5 CP.
Magician SlayerEnables attacks with massive effects against Magic enemies. 4 CP.
True SeeingIncreases the occurence of critical attacks. 2 CP.
Unholy PurifierEnables attacks with massive effects against Unholy enemies. 4 CP.
Weed WhackerEnables attacks with massive effects against Plant enemies. 2 CP.

SkillDescriptionRequired Runes
Counter AttackDisplays icon after character is attacked. Press the button when you see it to counter attack.
Precision ParryPerforms guard when the button of the attacked character is pressed at the moment of attack. 3 CP.
Scramble AttackSet special input for normal attack, to be performed by pressing a button while holding the directional button. 2 CP.
